On Usury

This is probably the best treatment of usury that I have read anywhere. To this can be added Turretin’s comments on the 8th commandment in which he essentially agrees, allowing productive not not unproductive usury. Wolfgang Musculus’s comments on usury agree as well and are worth checking out. The article shows that the Reformed are not in conflict with the tradition on usury that went before them and that as this is so, they would hardly be fans of the many usurious practices of today but would denounce them in the strongest of terms.
